Phyllostachys bambusoides "Holochrysa"
Another variant of P. bambusoides, this time with sumptuous custard yellow canes. It's a strong growing bamboo, with a striking contrast between dark green leaves and good sized golden culms. It doesn't get as much press as other more common bamboos, but "Holochrysa" is about as good as it gets, being an essential bamboo to have in your garden. A gorgeous plant illustrating the best of the yellow-stemmed bamboos, it's culms bearing an orange luminescence in the soft morning and evening light.
If you only have one bamboo in your garden then have this one. You will not be disappointed.
